HEAD COACH AND FOUNDER
Head coach and founder of RCD Motorsport, Harry Hayek, brings a wealth of worldwide experience from Formula 4, Formula 3, and a factory GT role with McLaren Automotive. His elite-level expertise drives the RCD Motorsport team to deliver outstanding results. Passionate about driver development, Harry’s knowledge, structure, and attention to detail create exceptional learning experiences for every driver, regardless of skill level or experience.

Lachlan Mineeff
PROFESSIONAL DRIVER COACH
RCD Motorsport driver coach Lachlan Mineeff has a diverse racing background, competing across Australia in everything from single-seaters to tin tops. Starting his racing journey at the age of 9 in karting, Lachlan has since made his mark in TCR and Australian GT4, mostly recently securing race wins and claiming the 2024 GT4 Australian Pro-Am Championship.

Edan Thornburrow
PROFESSIONAL DRIVER COACH
RCD Motorsport coach Edan Thornburrow began his racing career in a Porsche 944 at age 12 competing in various historic events before moving into a Toyota 86 in production car racing, gaining multiple race wins and 2 championships. He then stepped into the National Trans Am series racing for Valvoline and Garry Rogers Motorsport for 4 years receiving a number of podiums and a best 2nd place finish in the championship as well as Motorsport Australia Young Driver Of The Year. Most recently in 2025, Edan moved to racing in the TA2 North America series for Owosso Speedway and F.A.S.T Auto Racing out of Brooklyn, New York.

Trent Grubel
PROFESSIONAL DRIVER COACH
RCD Motorsport driver coach Trent Grubel brings over two decades of motorsport experience, with a career that began in karting where he claimed multiple championship titles. His progression into car racing has seen him compete across a wide range of categories including Formula Ford, Production Cars, the Asian PEC Endurance Series, Formula 3, and the World Time Attack Challenge. Trent has continued his winning form throughout his career, achieving numerous race victories, podiums, and championship titles along the way.

Jason "JV" Varley
PROFESSIONAL DRIVER COACH
RCD Motorsport driver coach Jason “JV” Varley brings a wealth of experience to the team. Starting his karting career at age 12, JV went on to win 10 State Titles and 5 Australian Titles across multiple classes, and proudly represented Australia at the Karting World Championships. With over 15 years as a professional driver coach, he has worked with leading automotive brands including Porsche, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz and McLaren. JV also served as the Junior Development Officer for Karting NSW for more than 5 years, helping shape the next generation of drivers.

Matthew Waters
PROFESSIONAL DRIVER COACH
RCD Motorsport driver coach Matthew Waters brings elite international experience to the team. Racing since 1998, he has competed across Australia, New Zealand, Macau and Italy at the highest level. A multiple-time champion, his achievements include 5 Australian National Championships, 14 State Championships, the CIK Trophy of New Zealand and victory at the Super Nationals in Las Vegas, along with appearances at the CIK FIA World Championships. With decades of experience, Matthew combines high-level racecraft with a clear, structured approach to driver development, helping drivers unlock performance with confidence and consistency.

Zac Soutar
PROFESSIONAL DRIVER COACH
RCD Motorsport driver coach Zac Soutar has raced and coached across Australia, with an impressive motorsport journey that began at the age of 8 in karting. Zac progressed through the ranks, moving into Formula Ford before making the switch to tin tops in TCR, where he has earned numerous race wins and podium finishes.

Josh Haynes
PROFESSIONAL DRIVER COACH
RCD Motorsport driver coach Josh Haynes brings a wealth of experience from grassroots racing to national success. Beginning his racing journey in karting at age 7, Josh progressed through the ranks, gaining valuable experience across multiple categories, including production car racing, before securing the 2024 TA2 Australia Series Championship in Trans Am.

RCD Motorsport Head Mechanic Bryan Redmond brings 24 years of hands-on mechanical experience to the team, ensuring every car in our fleet is prepared to the highest standard. With a strong background in race car preparation and maintenance, his expertise, precision and deep mechanical knowledge keep our vehicles running faultlessly. Having worked across a broad range of racing categories, Bryan plays a vital role in keeping our drivers safe, fast and focused, knowing their car is in the hands of one of the most trusted professionals in the paddock.
